Record-Breaking Gift Wrapping and Distribution

This year’s toy drive surpassed all previous efforts with over 250 gifts wrapped and distributed. This achievement represents the largest toy initiative in the history of the A2I Foundation. Volunteers worked diligently at six wrapping stations set up in the Capital City Public Charter School cafeteria, ensuring a smooth flow from gift intake to wrapping and final packaging.

The gifts included toys purchased from popular retailers like Five Below and Amazon, as well as additional stocking-stuffer items. The variety and quality of gifts reflected the Foundation’s commitment to fulfilling the full wish list of the school’s students.

Strong Volunteer and Leadership Engagement

More than 100 volunteers registered across various platforms, showing remarkable community involvement. Among them were the DC Rhinos Mentorship Program mentees, led by Director Mentorship Glen Yonkers, Jr., who demonstrated leadership and dedication throughout the event. Their presence added energy and a sense of purpose to the wrapping social.

Board leadership also showed outstanding commitment, with five of seven members attending. Their participation helped coordinate efforts and foster teamwork, ensuring the event ran efficiently and effectively.

Community Partnerships That Matter

The partnership with Capital City Public Charter School remains a cornerstone of the Toy Drive’s success. School leadership expressed deep gratitude and enthusiasm for the continued collaboration. This relationship not only supports the students but also strengthens community ties.

Special guests like Miss Little HBCU and Mr. DMV attended the event, bringing excitement and visibility. Their involvement helped elevate the spirit of the gathering and encouraged broader community engagement.

Impact Beyond the Event

The 2025 Toy Drive demonstrated the growth and maturity of the A2I Foundation. The event was highly coordinated, with strong attendance and active participation from all involved. More importantly, it delivered joy to students during a year when many families faced financial challenges.

The success of this event strengthens the Foundation’s relationship with Capital City Public Charter School and sets a solid foundation for future initiatives. It also serves as a reminder of the power of community collaboration and the difference it can make in children’s lives.
